Prophylaxis and treatment of diseases of the extremities – diabetic foot and slow-healing wounds
It is considered that every year approximately 100 000 Bulgarians encounter the so called slow-healing wounds. By definition these are wounds that would not heal within 4-6 weeks, and one of the most frequent reasons is diabetes. Medicus Alpha Clinic is one the few centers in Bulgaria where such patients are treated and attended with care as inpatients. It is a three-stage medical treatment – medicamental vasodilation and improvement of the blood circulation, minor surgical intervention for repair of wounds and removal of necrotic tissue before their aggravation and anti-biotic treatment to eliminate microbial flora.
